The standard we aim for
This site is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
What the site does
- Every page can be used with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline and a "Skip to content" link first in the tab order.
- The basket opens as a dialog: focus moves into it, stays inside it while it's open, and returns to where you were when you close it with the close button or Escape.
- Pages use headings, landmarks and lists in a logical order, so screen readers can jump straight to what you need. Adding to the basket is announced.
- Text and controls meet AA colour contrast against their backgrounds.
- If your device asks for reduced motion, the scrolling ribbon, the rotating badge, parallax and reveal animations are switched off.
- Every photograph has a text description of what it shows. Decorative ornaments are hidden from screen readers.
- Form fields have visible labels; errors are described in words, not by colour alone, and focus moves to the first problem.
- The layout works from small phones up, and text can be enlarged to 200% without loss of content.
- Allergens are listed in words on every flavour, and set out in a table on the menu page.
Known limitations
The photographs on this version of the site are placeholders, described by what they show rather than by flavour. [Anything found in testing with real users or assistive technology.]
