Accessibility

Built for everyone.

We want everyone to be able to browse the menu, check allergens and order cookies on this site.

Our target

This site is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

What we have done

  • Every page can be used with a keyboard alone. A “Skip to content” link is the first thing you reach, and the focused item always has a visible outline.
  • Menus, the basket and dialogs keep keyboard focus inside them while open, and close with the Escape key.
  • Pages use proper headings, landmarks and lists, so screen readers can move around them. The basket count, price totals and form errors are announced as they change.
  • Text and controls meet AA colour contrast. Information is never given by colour alone: allergens are written out as “Contains” and “May contain”.
  • Images have text alternatives; purely decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
  • If your device is set to reduce motion, the scrolling animations, transitions and the opening-cookie effect are switched off and the content is shown still.
  • Text can be zoomed to 200% and the layout reflows down to a 320 pixel wide screen without sideways scrolling.
  • Forms have visible labels, say which fields are optional, and explain errors in words next to the field.

Known limitations

The product photos are placeholders and will be replaced with photos of the real cookies. Their descriptions will be updated to match.
