What we've done
- Every page works with a keyboard alone. A "Skip to content" link is the first thing you reach, and focus is always visible as a thick outline.
- Pages use real headings, lists, landmarks and form labels, so screen readers can move around them. The basket and the mobile menu are proper dialogs: focus moves into them and returns when they close, and Escape closes them.
- Body text is set in dark ink on paper-coloured backgrounds. The colours were chosen to meet AA contrast: the blue (#0068AC) passes on the paper colour and paper passes on the blue; black text on the bright pink passes too.
- The printed-ink texture is decoration only. It is used on large headings, shapes and photos, never behind body text.
- Photos have text alternatives. On a flavour's page you can switch the two-colour print effect off and see the photo in full colour.
- Moving things (the scrolling banners, spinning stickers, entrance effects) stop if your device is set to reduce motion, and the "Pause motion" button at the top of every page stops them too.
- Forms say which fields are required, explain errors next to the field they belong to, and list all errors at the top when you submit.
- Allergen information is written out in words on the menu and on every flavour's page, not shown only as icons or colours.
Known limitations
- The photos are placeholders and will be replaced with photos of the real cookies.
- The menu can be printed, but it is designed as a web page first. [A plain-text or large-print menu, if offered]
