What we have done
- Keyboard: everything works without a mouse. Panels (a flavour, your order, search, the menu) open as proper dialogs: focus moves into them, stays there until you close them with Esc or the close button, and returns to where you were.
- Shortcuts: / searches, B opens your order, M goes to the menu and ? lists them. They never fire while you are typing in a field.
- Screen readers: pages use landmarks and a logical heading order; there is a skip link; prices and counts that animate also have a plain-text version; changes to your order are announced.
- Visible focus: every control shows a clear outline when it has keyboard focus.
- Colour and contrast: text meets AA contrast. The pink is only used behind dark text, never as text on white. Allergen information never relies on colour alone.
- Motion: if your device asks for reduced motion, animations and scrolling effects are switched off.
- Touch: buttons and controls are at least 44 by 44 pixels, and the main controls sit within thumb reach on phones.
- Zoom and reflow: pages work at 200% zoom and on screens as narrow as 320 pixels without sideways scrolling.
- Forms: every field has a visible label; errors are listed at the top, linked to the field, and explained next to it.
- Images: photos that carry meaning have descriptions; decorative ones are hidden from screen readers.
Known limitations
- The photos are stock placeholders, not Dough‑lightful Bites' own cookies.
- Contact details are placeholders until the client supplies them.
