Accessibility

Open to everyone.

This site is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. Here is what that means in practice, and how to tell us when something doesn't work for you.

What the site does

  • Keyboard. Everything works without a mouse: links, the basket, the menu, product options and forms. A visible pink outline shows where you are, and a "Skip to content" link is the first thing on every page.
  • Screen readers. Pages use real headings, lists, tables and form labels. The basket, menu and product images have text alternatives; the cookie illustrations are described in words; decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
  • Allergens in text. Allergens are always written out, never only shown as icons or colour. The allergen table on the menu has proper row and column headers.
  • Contrast. Text meets the AA contrast ratios against the dark background.
  • Motion. If your device asks for reduced motion, the scrolling animations, the moving text band, the custom pointer and the cookie animations are switched off, and everything is shown at once.
  • Zoom and small screens. The layout reflows down to 320 pixels wide and up to 400% zoom without sideways scrolling.
  • Forms. Required fields are marked, errors are described in words next to the field, and focus moves to the first problem.

Known limits

  • The "pull apart" interaction on the cookie illustrations is drag-only, but the same result is always available from the "Break it open" button.
